What keeps me going everyday would have to be my future.  Knowing there are thousands of possibilities in my future keeps me going every day because the possibilities are unless. No one will get me anywhere in life but my self, and if you want something really bad all I have to do is put my mind to it. I will be able to do whatever I want. If I work hard and the best I can everyday I will achieve my goals in life; this motivates me day and night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It seems like every year there is new technology that is coming out, it’s always bigger and better than the pervious year. I love the new technology and updates that are involved but I would have to say my favorite invention is the internet. I am always using the internet for everything for, typing work up, downloading music, social networking, researching, etc. If I am not home on my laptop I am browsing the internet from my iphone its amazing how much access we have in 2011 at the touch of our finger tips.

For as long as I can remember, I have had a strong fascination with history.  As a child, my favorite games involved pretending I was living in another era.  If I had access to a time machine, I would use it to go back in time to eighteenth-century America.  I would like to live when our country was young; when people worked hard and appreciated all that they had.  To me, these were true Americans—people who could remember the Revolution and the principles for which their families had fought and died.  They were proud to be Americans, and grateful to live in a country with unprecedented freedoms.  I would like to live alongside Americans like that.

It is a known fact that fire hose is one of the mandatory equipment to fight against fire. This equipment was invented by Jan Hayden in 1672. There are various types of hoses are available for firefighting purposes. The discharge hoses are essentially designed and manufactured to be used under positive pressure. Similarly, hoses that are used under negative pressure are called suction hoses. Fire hoses are classified based on cross-section of its outlet and size as well. The modern fire hose is lightweight and easy to carry. Not only that, as technology advances with the usage of new materials hoses have been designed in such a way so that they can withstand the effects of sunlight and various chemicals as well.

There have been many times in my life when I have thought back on a past experience and wished I had acted differently.  Never have I felt this more strongly than when I think about a girl I knew in middle school.  She was nice enough, but she was overweight and had a lisp.  The boys teased her mercilessly.  Unfortunately, like many young people, I cared more about “being cool” than I did about standing up for what was right.  I ought to have confronted those boys, and told them that they were being cruel and hurtful.  In reality, it probably would have had no effect on them whatsoever, except to make certain that I would be a focus of their bullying from then on as well.  Nonetheless, I should have defended her, simply because it was the right thing to do.  It might have made all the difference in the world to that girl.  It might have made the teasing a bit more bearable if she had known someone was on her side.

When I was a kid, I could climb trees like a monkey.  I could shimmy up the smoothest trunk and reach the highest limb.  I fell out of a few, but it never stopped me from climbing.  There was so much that was good about climbing a tree.  It made me feel accomplished, if I could figure out how to get into a particularly tricky tree.  It was a good place to hide from my brothers.  It was a quiet, peaceful place to daydream and fantasize about what the future might hold.  I have tried to climb trees as an adult, and I am embarrassed to admit that I can no longer manage this feat.  With age and long hours at the office has come extra pounds and diminished muscle tone.  I would dearly love to, at least once more in my life, climb up into leafy seclusion and let my imagination carry me away, but I am afraid that I may never have that pleasure again.

There is much type of fire safety measures that can be installed in a building to ensure the safety of the occupants of the building in case of an event of fire. Automatic fire suppression systems, fire hose reels, automatic fire detection and alarm systems, fire extinguishers, smoke exhaust systems and emergency lighting are some of the safety measures that are used commonly. When there is an event of fire the first thing you have to do is to sound the fire alarm in the building so that others can evacuate. Though the fire can be put out by yourselves it is always advisable to inform the fire department without any delay.

My goals in life are few in number, but great in magnitude.  I want to marry someone who loves me for who I am, and whom I love in the same way.  I want our marriage to be the foundation of love and security that our children will need to be happy and successful in life.  I want to be a history teacher and teach American kids to be proud of their country.  I have not yet achieved any of these goals, but I know in my heart that I will achieve them all, because to me, they are things that make life worth living.

If I could go back in time five years and live those years again, I would put my focus on my education, instead of my job, my love interests, and entertainment.  Five years ago, I was twenty-one.  I should have been starting my senior year of college, but I was barely a sophomore.  A part-time retail job I had taken on to help pay my expenses had turned into a full-time career.  I had too much responsibility to give enough attention to my studies, and so I was suspended from the university.  I gave up on college, which meant I was stuck on a career path I loathed.  If I had just focused on my classes instead of work, men, and partying, I could be working on my doctorate degree now, instead of finishing up my bachelor’s.  Then I would be where I want to be in life, instead of learning how to let go of my dreams.

If I knew my life was about to be over, I would regret not spending more time with my loved ones.  I do spend quite a lot of time with my family and friends as it is, but I know that if death was imminent, I would wish I had seen more of them.  It is hard to spend time with my two best friends, because they each live more than a thousand miles away.  Getting together always requires extensive travel on someone’s part, so it is often cost-prohibitive.  As for my family, work often gets in the way of enjoying each other’s company.  Whether at our respective jobs, or doing chores around our homes, work keeps us from seeing as much of each other as we would like.  I know if I was facing death, money and work would seem like silly things to keep me from being with the people I love, but I also know that if I did not work to earn money, I would probably see even less of them than I do now.  Life seems unfair in that respect, which is why I think that, no matter what, we always end up having regrets.
