The term best friend is one that is thrown around loosely in many circles. Gone is the notion of having ‘one best friend’ and many people consider 4 or 5 people as their “best friend” in this day and age. In my opinion, a best friend doesn’t have to be someone with the exact same interests as you. That isn’t what is important. What is important is the idea of understanding – they are able to relate to you on another level and that brings you closer together. They are there for you in the good times and the bad, and can make you feel better in even the worst situations.

I am a notorious loser of phones. I have gone through at least ten phones in the past three years and every time I feel as if I have to go through an endless saga with AT&T, my current wireless carrier. It seems impossible for them to compute that accidents happen, evidenced by the exorbitant charges that come without signing a contract. iPhones, Blackberrys, Razrs, I have had them all. But one common component in all of these phones, other than the overpricing factor, is that there are a significant number of dropped calls every time. AT&T promotes themselves as the service with the most coverage across the globe, but I can’t even count the number of times a conversation has been interrupted by loss of service. The current problems with the iPhone 4 only illustrate this fact even further.

The longest job I have been in would be that of a medical transcriptionist. In calling that a job, I will think twice, because I never felt like it was one. It was more like a fun thing for me. Doing file one after the other increasing the line count and money in your account felt like a game of, say Farmville. It was metaphoric to a game in which you perform a task and accumulate points. I never felt the pressure and loved the job. If you are a medical transcriptionist too, I am sure you will know what I mean.

Back in 2008, I had been to the Lakshadweep islands which literally means ‘a lack islands’ in Indian. By far, that is probably the coolest place I have been to. I mean cool in the metaphoric sense, as the climate there is just perfect and not too cold or hot. I months long cruise and sun bathing on the beach side was not all it was about. I also had the chance of savoring the most delicious seafood. For an adventurous person like me, swimming, scuba diving and parasailing was more than I had asked for. If I ever get a chance to go there again, I shall get you photographs to prove my point.

Australia, France, India, Egypt and Thailand are the coolest places I have visited so far and not necessarily in the same order. Since I have already had the experience of travelling all over the world I would love to do something. If a genie out of a bottle and asks me where I would like to travel, I would wish to travel to the moon. Yes, the moon, which looks like a bright silver disc. Many astronauts have given their account of what the moon is like, but I would like to find out myself what the moon is all about. Is it hard like the earth or porous like a sponge? Is it as big as a golf ball or the globe? I cannot stop wondering. So are you the genie who grants the wish?

I am woman of 22, an undergraduate, overweight and underemployed unlike my peer. These facts have put me down in the past, but I am not letting that happen anymore. That is possible because I have now made a new beginning and left the past behind. New aspirations, hopes, determination, discipline and a new self are helping me not repeat the same mistakes that I committed in the past. Working hard at my present job, working out to lose that extra flab and a leading a disciplined life is just a part of it. With time, I am confidence that I shall be so far away from the past that it will like a tiny dot. Life is long enough and has a lot to offer. It is never too late to start afresh. It is never too late for a new beginning…

Fire safety should be something you worry about in your home. All you have to do is plan a fire route, have a small foam fire extinguisher handy, and maybe buy a rope ladder if you live on the second floor. Always check and make absolutely sure that your smoke detectors have batteries and work. This can be done by pushing the “test” button on the detector. Also, check the tag on the foam fire extinguisher and make sure that it was inspected and filled by a professional. There is a gauge on the extinguisher that will tell you how much pressure it has. Most of them will have it coded like a red light. Red meaning that you should definitely have it filled, yellow meaning that you probably should check into it, and green meaning it full and ready to go.

The best event I have ever been to would definitely be the one in India, a musical night by an Indian classical singer. The music form was Hindustani, which is the Indian word for North Indian music. There was the tabla and the vocals. It is hard to say which of the two surpassed the other. That was the first glimpse of the rich Indian culture that I had. That night made me envy the Indians who have the privilege to such shows as often as they wish. For me, I hope it at least turns out to be more than a onetime experience.

The commonly used a small automatic fire extinguisher are stored pressure type. Nowadays fire extinguishing balls are also available in the market. It can be normally operated through a range of 5 square meters by just rolling or throwing into fire. We can take several safety measures to prevent fire hazards. Automatic fire extinguishers must be placed and maintained in easily accessible areas. Also we must maintain proper fire exits whenever we construct a building, vehicle etc. Fire alarm systems must also be maintained in accessible areas. We must also conduct fire drills once in a year to avoid hazards created by fire.

Being 66 kilograms for a young woman of 22 makes be extremely diet conscious. To stay away from bad shape, if not get into good shape, I need to constantly check the calories I consume. And so, the food that I like is invariably anything that is low in fat and calories. This could be anything from a fruit to fibre. Sweets and chocolates are a big no no, though by temptation says yes yes!. I check the nutritional value of every pack of snack I buy because a few extra calories means a lot more minutes of toiling on the treadmill.
